A male prisoner was publicly flogged in Ramhormoz of Khuzistan province (South-West of Iran).

The website of the Department of Justice of the clerical regime announced a man by the name of Gholamreza D. received 74 lashes in public on April 26. He was accused of robbery.

The inhumane punishment of flogging used by the clerical regime is condemned by international human rights organizations. Amnesty International considers acts of corporal punishment such as flogging as a form of torture.
