Presidents
The Rt. Hon. the Lord Archer of Sandwell QC is the former UK Solicitor-General. He began his career in Parliament in 1966 as a Labour MP for Rowley Regis and Tipton. He was a member of the Shadow Cabinet from 1981 until 1987. In the House of Lords, he was Opposition Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs from 1992 until 1997. He has been a member of the Intelligence and Security Committee. He was twice the chair of the Society of Labour Lawyers. Since 1993, Lord Archer has been the President of the Fabian Society.

Lord Alton of Liverpool is a former Chief Whip of the Liberal Party and presently an independent crossbench life Peer. Lord Alton is also Professor of Citizenship at Liverpool John Moores University and has been a friend of the Iranian Resistance movement for over 25 years, including when he was an MP.
