Je voudrais tout d’abord saluer Madame Maryam Radjavi et vous dire – chères sœurs et chers amis de la démocratie en Iran – cette année encore, alors que nous célébrons ensemble la journée mondiale des femmes, tragiquement, au-delà de 1000 de nos sœurs iraniennes subissent des pressions inhumaines imposées par les forces irakiennes et leurs maitres, les mollahs du régime iranien. Iranian women have played the primary role in political leadership on the struggle against this clerical regime. Ces paroles ont déjà été prononcées à plusieurs reprises cet après-midi, mais je crois qu’il faut continuer à le dire et à se faire entendre du monde entier et à faire entendre ces paroles encore une fois. Camp Ashraf who’s resident have given so much open inspiration to the Iranian people by women ask for a democratic change. This camp has been administered by women. Despite the fact that the last 2 years have been use of the most complexe period for the members of the opposition in Ashraf, we are proud to say that camp Ashraf has been laid by our sisters with success despite the harsh and extremely dangerous conditions on the camp. These women have been a shining example to the sisters, to us, the world over for the seriousness and responsibility and that’s not forget, their courage.

Les résidents d’Ashraf ont déjà commencé leur transfert vers le camp Liberty, quel nom absolument ironique. Un deuxième contingent de 400 personnes a suivi, c’est la première étape de leur établissement dans un pays neutre. Mais ce nouveau camp – comme nous l’avons déjà entendu – n’est pas le refuge promis. En plus de la campagne de désinformation où les résidents eux-mêmes auraient détruit leur propre camp – ce que l’on nomme en anglais blaming the victim – il est reporté une présence forte de police armée sur les lieux jusqu’à 60 fois par jour. Si vous calculez 60 fois par jour, cela veut dire qu’il y a une patrouille militaire dans le camp et autour du camp qui circule plus d’une fois toutes les 30 minutes. Peut-on s’imaginer cela ? La torture psychologique continue à travers les caméras de surveillance, omniprésentes dans le nouveau camp. Et pourquoi ? What is the reason for all this ? Irak ridiculous answer to the question is that they must ensure Iraki sovereignty in the camp. What a weak pretext. And no civilized democratic society. Does the government need to harass people and step into their private life in order to ensure their own sovereignty ?  Nous savons ce qui se cache derrière cette soi-disant souveraineté, c’est bien l’agenda politique des mollahs iraniens, qui consiste à vouloir briser la résistance des résidents du camp Liberty et ainsi les forcer à abandonner leur combat pour la liberté et la démocratie en Iran.

Mais les femmes du camp Liberty ne capituleront pas. We’ve heard testimony today from powerful and thoughtful women from all over the word. These women have been a force in shipping their own words and we have heard this women solidarity, with others courageous women in Iran and the leading example in Ashraf and Liberty. Let us pledge to stand behind them until there are free to achieve democracy. The majority of the Canadian parliament – which I use to represent until recently – has supported the moudjahidine despite the fact that our government would not follow the European parliament. But let’s call on UNAMI and the special representative of the UN secretary general and the US secretary of state to actively defend the human rights and ensure the dignity of Liberty’s residents. As women, we come on them to bring the Iraki soldiers to recognize that the current situation is intolerable for women in Liberty – for men also by the way. Police and cameras must be removed from the camp. Women should enjoy their privacy and the right to a decent life in Liberty until there’s allowed to leave Irak – which we hope will happen very soon. If not, the international community and particularly the united nations and the US must be held.

Madame Radjavi, allow me, once again this year to express gratitude for your leadership in sitting a peaceful solution and a democratic solution to again this crisis. Given the unacceptable behavior of the Iraki government and the failure of the united nations and the united states to apply their obligations were not for your leadership, Madame Radjavi, we would by now, I’m sure have had to face an other humanitarian catastrophe. Nous vous parlons à vous, femmes et hommes de l’Iran, d’Ashraf et de Liberty, nous sommes solidaires de votre combat pour la démocratie en Iran, ne lâchez pas.
